The skate community wanted to do something to pay our respects to John F. Kennedy Jr. when he and his wife died in that tradgic plane crash in 1999.  This all happenned when we were preparing for the Red Bull Great Skate Roller Dance Championships in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.  We took it upon ourselves to change the name of  J.F.K. Drive, the main road in Golden Gate Park that is closed to cars on Sundays, to "John F. Kennedy Jr. Drive".   The change lasted for the weekend.  See how the media treated the story.
